About the event
Yoruba is the most widely spoken language outside Nigeria and Africa. It’s been estimated that there are over 40 million Yoruba primary and secondary language speakers across the globe
Because of the Trans–Atlantic Slave Trade that occurred in the 18 century, sons and daughters of the Yoruba kingdom has spread around the world and have impacted in one way or the other to uplift the tribes culture and tradition
Cuba’s rich culture and its worldwide influence in the performing arts, dance and music was influenced greatly by the Yorubas, in its majority, that arrived during the slave trade.
There are other countries that are home of a lot of Yoruba culture and language like El Salvador, Brazil-Bahia with the largest number of Yoruba abroad, UK, Togo, Benin, Liberia, Ghana, North America, Europe and the Caribbean Islands.
